Description
Silver or Gold Tins (used to be also known as Tobacco Tins when everyone smoked)
These tins are made of tinplate, which is rolled steel layers covered in a thin layer of tin to inhibit rusting. They have a rubbery coating around the inside edge of the tin lid. This was originally intended to keep the tobacco fresh but also works as soap tins.
